JNU Professor's Talk Cancelled, Parents Apologise

JNU professor emerita Zoya Hasan's scheduled appearance as chief guest was cancelled following protests outside the school, only to be reinstated in virtual form after parents and students staged their own counter protest.

The irony is palpable: a school founded on Sardar Vallabhai Patel's legacy of inclusivity and pluralism succumbed to pressure from "external forces" (the euphemistic term used by the parents in their apology letter) to drop Hasan.
