Number of Asylum Seekers Being Housed in UK Hotels Drops 35% Year on Year The number of asylum seekers being housed in hotels has fallen to an all time low, with 20,885 individuals currently in temporary accommodation, according to recent Home Office figures.
This represents a 35% decrease from the same period last year.
The decline in asylum seeker housing numbers coincides with a significant drop in net migration, which fell to an estimated 171,000 last year – the lowest level since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
