Australian Tackled and Handcuffed at US Airport for 'Overstaying' The incident occurred on January 10th at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) when Australian citizen Jayden Smith, a 32 year old marketing manager from Sydney, was detained by US Customs and Border Protection officers after allegedly overstaying his visa.
According to eyewitnesses, Smith was tackled to the ground and handcuffed before being taken away for questioning.
Smith had been visiting the United States since July 2022 on a six month tourist visa that was due to expire on January 10th.
